In 2021 SherpTek developed a system for an electric vehicle, showcasing an expandable modular bed system on an Arcimoto Flatbed prototype at the three-wheeled EV company’s Summer Showcase at Portland International Raceway.

Using the same modular concept and aerospace manufacturing techniques that SherpTek employs for mid- and full-size trucks, SherpTek Founder and CEO Ryan Goodwin designed a lightweight system that expands to the width of the Aricomoto vehicle’s front tires and has tie-down channels on all surfaces to retain the mutli-functionality SherpTek systems are known for. The system’s versatility was on display at the Aricomoto Summer Showcase with a bed loaded up for a multi-sport day, complete with mountain bike, kiteboard and kiteboarding gear, SUP board, slack line, cooler, table, chairs and more. Illuminated front “pockets” in the cab guard held hacky sacks and extra D-rings, slider nuts, and ratchet straps.

Just like on SherpTek’s full-size systems, the options are endless for accessories, adaptations and configurations on smaller vehicles. And the SherpTek system stands out as an ideal platform for electric vehicles due to its weldless construction and careful attention to detail and usability.
