Straight from the shop
Morning walks now include gravel and dirt roads where the pups can roam off-leash.
Barnes Butte trails
Single-track within a mile and a half from the shop.
Cascade views
The views from Barnes Butte are beautiful!
The SherpTek Wildlife Refuge
Three families of Canada geese nested on site this spring. We enjoyed watching the goslings grow, take their daily strolls and eventually take flight.
The SherpTek Wildlife Refuge
In late February a yellow-bellied marmot (aka “whistle pig”) poked his head out of the ground about 20 yards east of the shop. Merlin, as we called him, was soon joined by Madam Mim and four pups who played in the yard and kept Mac and Moxi on their toes.
The Neighbors
Our neighbors like to horse around (both puns intended).
A Wild & Scenic River
The Crooked River Wild & Scenic Section is a short drive south from the shop.
There are numerous campgrounds (no hookups) and day-use areas along the Wild & Scenic Section of the Crooked River.
Crooked River
Even if you don’t have time to camp, the drive along the Wild & Scenic Section of the Crooked River is well worth your time.
Ochoco National Forest
We’ve only spent one night in the Ochocos, and it was glorious. We hope to get out and explore them more in the future and encourage you to get out there and let us know the best spots!
